2015 was a quiet year for ambitious artist Donald Glover, who covers everything from music, acting, writing and stand-up comedy. Besides the impressive cover of Tamia's "So Into You", his roles in movies including: The Martian, Magic Mike XXL, and the awful Lazarus Effect. We haven't really gotten a project that is all Donald Glover since 2014's STN MTN/Kauai mixtape. A continuation of the story of The Boy from Because The Internet, his second studio album. So what is 2016 going to look like for Donald? We already have his FX series Atlanta to look forward to, which isn't expected until around fall. But can we expect new music from Donald? Maybe. According to Complex's recent distrusting article which promises albums from artists who haven't even hinted at a new albums like Danny Brown and Eminem, the answer is yes. Donald has made very slight hints at new music which his die hard fans eagerly try to decode which has led to success in the past, discovering gems like hidden verses and such. Donald hides behind a very mysterious persona on the internet, with his Twitter and Instagram being completely empty, with him making moves very sporadically.
Donald also said back in February 2015, that Childish Gambino, his rap persona should come to a close at some point. And since that statement, Gambino has yet to release any verses, with the small amount of music he has been hinting at has been R&B related. Which is still impressive music as Gambino has a very talented singing voice. But does that mean Gambino's rapping days are over? Hopefully, 2016 will answer some of these questions. Including if he is no longer going under the name Childish Gambino but just simply Donald Glover. As that's what he was credited as when the track he appeared on with Jhené Aiko and Vince Staples was released on the Creed soundtrack this past fall.

It is hard to expect what Donald's next move will be other than the fact that it will be interesting. I hope he does not take a Kid Cudi approach with his next album if there even one. And if we aren't blessed with a new album from Donald, at least we still have Atlanta to look forward to which he stars in and created. If I had to guess what Donald's next move would be, I would say we can expect some new music soon being as he has toured somewhat recently, with almost every show including his new song "Me and Your Mama" which doesn't have a home just yet. Seeing as that song hasn't been released as a single yet, Donald may be saving it for his new album or maybe for the soundtrack for Atlanta. Atlanta certainly has taken up a percentage of his time but with Donald's career revolving around his juggling of many different careers, it's safe to say he is working or has worked on something impressive and it's only a matter of time before it's unleashed. With Donald's ambiguity and impressive creative output, it's unusual for him to sit still and be so deafeningly quiet for so long. 2016 could be the year Donald Glover finally breaks his silence and reach heights we have not yet seen from him.
